WASHINGTON — Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison had gathered last spring to consider a resolution calling on the university to divest in companies and countries that abuse human rights, profit from the “military-industrial complex” and promote fossil fuels when the debate jumped the rails.

Soon, the students were in a full-scale battle over whether the resolution should cover Israel, with charges of anti-Semitism and racism rattling the room. A student representative who was Jewish said that the last-minute inclusion of Israel “crossed the line from legitimate conversation to a point where I consider it malicious.”

Leaders clash over tougher protections for Jewish college students/ By Marisa Schultz

Academic and Jewish leaders clashed at the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday over whether tougher laws are needed to protect Jewish students on college campuses.

Opponents cautioned new legislation could impede free speech on college campuses, restrict anti-Israel political debate and could open a Pandora’s Box for other groups seeking their own laws.

Anti-Semitic caricature of Alan Dershowitz generates no criticism from UC Berkeley hard left

I was recently invited to present the liberal case for Israel at UC Berkeley. In my remarks, I advocated the establishment of a Palestinian state and a negotiated end of the conflict. I encouraged hostile questions from protesters and answered all of them. The audience responded positively to the dialogue.

Ramadan Speakers at a New York City “Quds Day Rally” declared, “US number one terrorist!” and “Israel, go to Hell!”

WATCH: New York Muslim Rally Declares US the “#1 Terrorist’

At a rally in Times Square, New York, Muslims marked International Quds Day with vicious attacks on both the US and Israel.

Referring to Jerusalem as Quds, its Arabic name, Quds Day has been celebrated as an annual anti-Israel event on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan since being initiated by Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979.

Together with chants of “US number one terrorist!” and “Israel, go to Hell!”, the rally speakers unloaded an extraordinary number of conspiracy theories about the US and Israel.

Watch as the invited speakers jump from the John F. Kennedy assassination to the origins of ISIS to some revealing thoughts about the two-state solution.

Fliers Call to End “Jewish Privilege” at U. Illinois Comments Permalink Posted by Miriam Elman

Intersectionality or Parody? The end point of trendy progressive campus theory looks like classic antisemitism.

Several weeks ago a series of fliers appeared on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

Most of the hateful fliers disparaged American Jews as privileged whites and connected this alleged ‘Jewish privilege’ to social injustice in the U.S. Others drew on classic antisemitic tropes of Holocaust denial and the new form of Jew-hatred in which Israel is compared to Nazi Germany.

In a statement, university administrators condemned the antisemitic fliers that “defame, insult and negatively portray Jewish members of our campus community.” They’re reportedly conducting a full investigation, but as of this writing those responsible for creating and distributing the fliers are still unknown.

In February, high school students enrolled in the course, “Principles of Literary Representation,” offered through the Oswego, New York county CiTi/BOCES New Vision program, were taken aback when presented with an assignment in which they were tasked with supporting or opposing the “Final Solution,” in other words, justifying the extermination of Jews.
